SPANISH FOR MEDICAL PERSONNEL
Introduces essential medical vocabulary, grammar structures and practical reference information, and medical notes written from a cross-cultural perspective. It provides opportunities to apply, in a wide variety of practical, everyday situations that medical students, and health-care professionals are likely to encounter at work settings such as hospitals, emergency rooms, doctors' offices, and clinics when dealing with Spanish-speaking patients and personnel.
BASIC SPANISH FOR BUSINESS AND FINANCE
Takes a functional approach and ls designed to serve those in the world of business who seek basic conversational skills in Spanish. It introduces essential business vocabulary and grammar used in typical everyday situations that business financial and accounting professionals may encounter at their workplace, on business travel, or while communicating with business partners abroad.
BASIC SPANISH FOR SOCIAL SERVICES
Is a career manual designed to serve those in the social services professions who seek basic and more advanced conversational skills in Spanish. It introduces practical vocabulary and grammatical structures needed for, everyday on-the-job situations, It provides opportunities to apply, in a wide variety of everyday situations that professionals may encounter when dealing with Spanish-speaking clients, patients, and personnel in a variety of social work settings.
Intensive Spanish Program:
Our intensive courses have been designed to provide and expand your understanding of the Spanish language using a variety of teaching methods, always keeping in mind the functional use of the language. We try and find a nice balance between accuracy (speaking correctly) and fluency (communicating your ideas effectively). Our courses cover the four skills with an emphasis on oral production and listening comprehension skills necessary to communicate effectively. The courses take a topical/functional approach to the language. We believe that this approach insures that our students are able to utilize the subject matter taught in class outside of the classroom in authentic situations from an early stage.
The courses are student-centered and our instructors are very skilled at "tuning-in" to student`s needs. Some of the material provided in the course such as the listening comprehension and pronunciation package will also give you the opportunity to continue working on your listening and speaking after you have completed your course and students can be provided individual reports filled with suggestions on how they can continue to improve their Spanish based on the instructors evaluation of their learning style and areas of importance.
Small Group Casual Spanish Program & Costs:
English & Spanish For All has always made providing Spanish classes for residents a priority and continues to do so. We have recently redesigned our courses and are now offering two different beginner courses for those with different language goals and learning abilities. We offer courses at all levels and continue to try and be flexible in scheduling and customizing the classes to meet the needs of the participants. We are also starting new programs, such as our Mexican cooking class and drop-in conversation classes run on a more casual basis. We can provide classes off-site if requested. We keep the groups small (maximim 6 Average 4) to ensure maximum student teacher interaction time.
Group Spanish Classes:
Our group courses take a topical, functional approach to the language so that students can actually put into practice what they learn in class from the get-go. We try to find a nice balance between accuracy (speaking correctly) and fluency (being understood) and our courses generally focus on speaking and listening comprehension in authentic situations likely to be encountered outside the classroom. A cultural component is included in the courses ranging from cultural awareness to local and national history and current events.
Our beginner course was originally designed and offered as a 60 hour block. In our experience many of the residents prefer a more casual rather than intensive schedule and we have re-designed it into 30 hour courses, thereby requiring a shorter time committment. It is usually offered 3 days a week, 2 hours a class, and takes 5 weeks to complete. However, we have run courses in many different configurations and other options are possible.
Costs: The cost for the 30 hour course is 3000 pesos. There is a 300 peso registration fee for each course and all materials are included with this fee.
Casual Private Spanish Classes:
Students choose prívate classes for a variety of reasons. A great advantage is that you have complete control over the content of the course and the skills that are emphasized. The classes can also be programmed around your schedule and commitments. The price for Private classes is $300 pesos/hr and includes all materials.
Semi Private Spanish Classes:
Casual Semi-private classes are ideal for couples or friends who will work together at the same pace and also require flexibility in scheduling. Please contact for pricing options.
